 Love this quote as I am working on developing communications plans for social media as a way congregations can reach members and their community to build relationships and do good in their neighborhoods.

15 Website Basics

Don’t Assume they are on your Website or Even Accurate



1.     A good domain name (easily found in a google search)

2.      Your congregation’s name

3.     Full physical address with zip code

4.      Phone number with area code

5.      Email address(s) with working link – include all staff email addresses

6.      Map to your building

7.      If a larger complex include a “campus map”

8.      If other agencies, organizations, day care, pre-school, adult programs use your building give special entrance/parking instructions

9.      Service times – including Sunday School & Educational program times

10.              Office hours

11.              A descriptive paragraph – your story, mission

12.              Links to your Social Media outlets

13.              Pictures of your ministries

14.              Pictures of key leaders

15.              Pictures pastor and staff

Introduction

Social Media for Ministry is meeting people in your congregation and community throughout the week, outside the building. It is creating community beyond the walls of the church.

This blog site has been developed as a resource for those who attend Social Media for Ministry workshop at Synod Fest for the Southern Ohio Synod, ELCA.
